A milestone in safety: Mining Engineering Managers’ Safety Seminar achieves new heights

The two-day seminar brought together 200 professionals from across the industry and was an opportunity to share knowledge, exchange innovative ideas, and strengthen the collective commitment to enhancing safety practices in mining engineering. The event underscored the importance of collaboration and engagement as drivers of progress in health and safety across the sector.

The program featured a rich array of presentations and discussions, including a compelling account of a "Young Stat Engineer's Journey" and a thought-provoking panel discussion on “Emerging Technologies and Automation in Mining Safety.” These sessions offered critical insights into the continuously evolving safety landscape in the mining industry, highlighting the role of innovation and new technologies in shaping the future of workplace safety.

Chief Inspector of the Regulator, Anthony Margetts, reinforced the importance of such events, stating, “The key to improving health, safety, and wellbeing for workers is through engagement and the collaborative effort of those who have the greatest influence to make a meaningful change. These events continue to achieve just that.”

As MEMSS continues to grow, it remains a cornerstone in the ongoing effort to ensure safety is at the forefront of mining engineering. With each seminar, the industry moves closer to achieving its goal of creating safer, more sustainable workplaces for all.
