Annual rehabilitation reports submissions

Mining lease holders are required to submit annual rehabilitation reports (ARR) to the Regulator via the Resources Regulator Portal (refer to clause 13 in Schedule 8A of Mining Regulation 2016).

The Regulator is aware that the new active disturbance and new rehabilitation progression data being entered into the first annual rehabilitation report is not accurately populating the rehabilitation key performance indicators.

This issue has now been resolved and as a result there is a slight change in the format of the ARR which will be available from 3 April 2023.

The rehabilitation key performance indicators will be calculated at the next (i.e. the second) ARR submission when a complete year of data is available.

If you have already submitted and published your ARR report, you should submit a new ARR as soon as possible using the updated format available in the Resources Regulator Portal.

Please ensure the spatial data themes uploaded via the Mine Rehabilitation Portal (i.e., Plan 1 – Status of mining and rehabilitation at completion of annual reporting period) are given the same year as the year of the ARR end date (e.g., if the ARR is from March 2023 to March 2024 then the spatial data themes need to be dated 2024).

The Regulator will continue to assist mines in meeting their compliance obligations.
