Electrical Engineering Control Plan for small mine sites

A targeted inspection program has been released assessing Electrical Engineering Control Plans (EECP) at small mine sites, as part of the Resources Regulator’s incident prevention strategy. This program evaluated safety management systems across 58 mine sites in NSW, from August 2020 to January 2024. 

Key findings include: 

  • 2,552 individual assessment results 
  • 398 findings required enforcement action 
  • 117 compliance notices issued across 55 sites: 
  • 3 prohibition notices 
  • 70 improvement notices 
  • 44 notices of concern
